Octogone 1
In his series “Octogone” we see Brun’s interest in the historical roots of our modern society. As the human condition has shifted from hunter-gatherer to a more sedentary lifestyle, the new cultivation system in place has changed the way we see how we are able to access food. The forms in which Brun lays out the fruit in this series are meant to emulate Stone Circles, an opposing concept to the fragility of the subject. These “stones” will one day decompose and rot, and will be lost to time and space, much like human practices that are ever evolving.
